Be A Legislative Page
If you're in 7th grade and interested in being a legislative page, working at the Statehouse in Montpelier,
it's definitely possible! Westminster 8th grader,Sarah Levine,just finished her 6 week term.
Here's her story.
"Being a page was living my dream. It held infinite
surprises and possibilities: What room would I have to
deliver to next? Which of the legislators needed
something? Though there were only 10 pages, it felt
like there were 100, because we're everywhere all the
time, and the legislators agree; a couple of them even
thought there were 20 or 30 of us!
Knowing that I was contributing to the state of
Vermont, that I was contributing to my state, was an
amazing feeling. People were always thanking me for my
help, asking what would they do without us? But to me,
the real question is what we would do without them.
I strongly advise applying to be a page. It's an
experience you will always remember."-Sarah Levine ,Westminster,Vt.
